My Dearest Friend,

The ultimate gift that you share with others is being your truest self.  This self is the one that is uniquely and utterly you, that comes from a deep source within your being and speaks your truth.

When you shine your light on who you truly are, rather than on who you think other people (and your own ego) want or expect you to be, you begin to shed the heavy layers that serve as armor around your heart.

You begin to feel lighter, freer, softer. You feel more in tune with what your heart desires and appreciative of what you have.

Armor can manifest itself in different ways.  For some, it comes out as a desire to show up perfectly, so that no one can see their flaws or vulnerabilities.  For others, it’s about holding back, staying small, and allowing themselves to become lost in the crowd.

Why are we humans so scared of being ourselves?  Why do we seek visibility, only to run away when others see us?  Why do we value strength and bravery, only to resist being vulnerable because we fear that others will think us trite or silly?

My friend, have compassion and forgiveness towards yourself, for you are your own worst critic.

Stop blaming and being hard on yourself.

It’s not your fault.

You entered this world in complete possession of your brilliance.

The armor only started to form after you experienced others’ mishandling and bruising your velvet skin and supple heart.

My friend, come closer, for I have more to share with you:

You are stronger and more resilient than you realize.

Your brilliance has never gone away. It’s simply waiting to be dusted off so that you can reawaken to who you were always meant to be.

Keep taking the next right step towards your God-given path.

Lean on others who believe in you, while you learn to reconnect with your truest self.

Have faith.

You can do it.

You are doing it.

Love, love, love, to you,

Sylvia
